The Most Watched Trailers Of 2014: Star Wars Isn’t #1, Which Movie Is?

The best part of going to the movies are the trailers. This year we had people pay for a movie just to see the trailer (Star Wars). We saw some pretty major trailers in 2014. There were trailers for sequels, prequels, origin stories, ones for mysterious passion projects; and trailers for adaptations of beloved books. But only one trailer gets to be the most major trailer of 2014. And it’s probably not the one you think it is.

1. Fifty Shades of Grey 93 Million Views Released on July 24th

I've lost faith in humanity, how could Fifty Shades of Grey beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Answer: Sex sells (joking) the trailer for Star Wars is only a month old while Fifty Shades of Grey is over a half year old. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer did have the biggest debut of the year, with 58.2 million views in its first 5 days.

My favorite trailer of this year are...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Interstellar

Jurassic World

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Mad Max: Fury Road
