Mortal Kombat X: Kung Lao and Kitana Reveal Trailer

Here's the newest Mortal Kombat X trailer. This time, we get a first look at Kung Lao!

After Mortal Kombat X's Kung Lao was leaked two weeks ago, fans have been asking for a proper announcement trailer from NetherRealm.

Although Ed Boon, series creator, has officially confirmed the fighter on Twitter, we still hadn't seen the fighter in action. Surely, there's plenty of new to see from this legend now that he's older and has a much sharper and deadlier hat.

We FINALLY get that trailer, but Kung Lao doesn't get all the spotlight. We're also introduced to the Edenian Princess Kitana!

See the trailer for yourself:

Kitana...also supposed to be dead, one of the many victims of Sindel’s rampage. Then again, while her death scene was pretty important in driving Liu Kang over the edge into madness, it was also so vague that you could just handwave it away that she wasn’t truly dead after all. I mean, Sindel just kind of held out some kind of energy thing in her hands that hurt Kitana and that was it. Not as explicit as Kung Lao having his neck snapped by Shao Kahn at least.

The trailer also features the first in-game look at Goro, who will be a pre-order exclusive. While “GORO LIVES” isn’t that shocking of a tagline considering he was just in the last game, it is a callback to the same message that would appear during the credits of Mortal Kombat II.

Meanwhile, today also gives us the print version of the Mortal Kombat X comic book by DC Comics. It’s a release of the first two digital comics put together. You can read our review of the first digital issue here. If anything, the comic all but confirms new characters Takeda and Fox as original characters in the Mortal Kombat X game.

Mortal Kombat X arrives on April 14.
