Batman vs. Robin: Debut Trailer

Batman has a new Robin, his son Damian, who is a bit reckless and gets himself into a lot of trouble in Batman vs. Robin... Batman vs. Robin, the newest DC animated film featuring the Dark Knight and the Boy Wonder, is coming on April 14. That's exciting news! Even more exciting is the fact that this film is based on the Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's current run on Batman. Their first arc, "The Court of Owls," saw Batman face off against the oldest criminal organization in the Gotham City underworld. One so old that it seems to be only a legend. But that couldn't be farther from the truth, as Batman becomes the prey of these owl-themed baddies. It's a creepy read and you should definitely check it out. Here's the trailer:

In the comics, Damian Wayne/Robin doesn't have a huge part to play except for an issue during the "Night of the Owls" crossover event. But he plays a huge part in the film, as he begins to travel down a dark path that may lead him into joining the Court of Owls and betray his father. The title "Batman vs. Robin" is reminiscent of Grant Morrison's run on Batman and Robin from back in the pre-Flashpoint days. One of the arcs was called "Batman vs. Robin" and saw Damian face off against not his father but Dick Grayson, who took over the mantle after Bruce Wayne fell to Darkseid in Morrison's Final Crisis. This film might see a combination of some of the elements in both Morrison's and Snyder's work. Television stars Jason O’Mara (Terra Nova) and Stuart Allan (Son of Batman) reprise their roles as the voices of Batman/Bruce Wayne and Robin/Damian, respectively. Adding to the celebrity-laden voice cast is Jeremy Sisto (Suburgatory) as Talon, singer/songwriter/comedian Al Yankovic as The Dollmaker, David McCallum (NCIS) as Alfred, Grey Griffin (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends) as Samantha, Sean Maher (Serenity) as Nightwing, and Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) as Thomas Wayne. Batman vs. Robin will be available on Blu-ray Deluxe Edition for $29.96, Blu-ray Combo Pack for $24.98 and on DVD for $19.98. The Blu-ray Combo Pack includes a digital version of the movie on Digital HD with UltraViolet. Fans can also own Batman vs. Robin in Digital HD on April 14 via purchase from digital retailers.
