Poltergeist Remake Trailer Has Dropped and it looks good.
Check out the first trailer for the Poltergeist reboot from producer Sam Raimi and starring Sam Rockwell.
People have spent so much time recently discussing the the Ghostbusters reboot and an Indiana Jones recasting (including our own skeptical thoughts on Indy's latest adventure) that folks are missing out on a much more haunting redo on the horizon. Indeed, with Poltergeist there is another 1980s property being dusted off, refocused, and set to be released this summer under the guise of "reboot."
Following on the heels of yesterday's Poltergeist images comes our first trailer for the 20th Century Fox's remake of the hit film from producer Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man) and director Gil Kenan (Monster House). And a lot has changed in the 30 years since the original. If you thought that it was bad when the ghosts came out of the TV, just wait until you see what they can do in the age of social media and smartphones. Raimi and Kenan certainly could be on the right track with the digital upgrade as well as with its impressive cast that includes Sam Rockwell (Moon, Snow Angels), Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married, Mad Men), Jared Harris (Mad Men), Saxon Sharbino, Jane Adams, and Kennedi Clements as Madison (Carol Anne for the iPad generation).
The Poltergeist haunting begins on July 24, 2015 in 3D.
