30th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival came to a close

The 30th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival came to a close on Saturday, February 7th.

The 12 day festival screened over 200 films from 54 countries with 90% of filmmakers in attendence, hosted 42 Academy Award nominees and brought out the latest creative forces in independent films, worldwide.

It was another exciting year for SBIFF's educational programs, such as Mike's Field Trip to the Movies, which had directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller screen their film The Lego Movie for over 4,000 area students; the 13th 10-10-10 Student Filmmaking and Screenwriting Competition, with Glenn Kalison, President of new presenting sponsor Relativity Education on hand to award the winners' scholarships.
