Thor’s Jaimie Alexander Lands NBC Amnesia Pilot

Thor’s Jaimie Alexander will be starring in a Bourne Identity meets Memento pilot for NBC, titled Blindspot.

Jaimie Alexander is looking at a her own television vehicle outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe too. While still being ready to star in Thor: Ragnarok, as well as appear in an episode of next month’s Agents of SHIELD.

The actress has been cast in a new NBC pilot that sounds like a cross between The Bourne Identity and Christopher Nolan’s Memento. Entitled Blindspot, it appears to be a project that will likely make it to series on NBC.

Alexander stars as a beautiful Jane Doe that is dumped in a duffle bag in the middle of Times Square (in New York City) where she wakes up with her memory gone and only some vague markings of tattoos on her skin. The FBI will then use her body as a map that will take them closer to a mysterious conspiracy, not to mention her own identity.

Not necessarily the most original of conceits—after all, Lady Sif is set to appear in the March 10th episode of Agents of SHIELD with her memory also wiped!—it is nonetheless one that should catch fans’ eyes, not least of all because it is a Warner Bros. TV and Greg Berlanti Productions pilot (i.e. the companies behind Arrow and The Flash). The Blindspot pilot is being written by Martin Gero of Stargate: Atlantis and directed by Mark Pellington of Arlington Road.
