X-Men: Apocalypse has found its Nightcrawler

Kodi Smit-McPhee is the latest to join the cast of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse...

Once again, director Bryan Singer has utilised his social media tentacles to release a fresh piece of casting news for his next film, X-Men: Apocalypse. And in this instance, it's the role of Nightcrawler that's been revealed.

Singer has used Nightcrawler in one of his X-Men films before, with Alan Cumming playing the character in X-Men 2. However, the role is now being taken on by Kodi Smith-McPhee. His highest profile role to date has been Alexander in Dawn Of the Planet Of The Apes, and the young actor has also lent his voice to ParaNorman, and appeared in Let Me In too.

Smitt-McPhee, a name that's harder to type than it looks, joins a cast that includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Oscar Isaac, and Tye Sheridan.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for cinema release on May 27th 2016.
