New Alien Movie With Neill Blomkamp Confirmed

After months of speculation stemming from some concept art that the director linked, it now looks official: Neill Blomkamp will make a new Alien movie at 20th Century Fox.
The director confirmed the news via his Instagram page, with a picture of one of the iconic aliens and the caption, "Um...So I think it's officially my next film. #alien"
The news caps off a strange series of events, that began with a batch of concept art the director showed the internet back in January. He admitted at the time it was "nothing to do with the studio" (meaning 20th Century Fox) and that he was just kicking around ideas. But then just last week he revealed that "Fox, they would make it...Like, tomorrow. They would make it."
Well, a week is as good as a day, because it looks like Fox is indeed making this movie with Mr. Blomkamp at the helm. As this is the director who has brought us two ambitious science fiction films with District 9 and Elysium (and Chappie looks to continue that tradition), it's a safe bet that the franchise is in good hands.
