Daredevil Releases 5 Character Posters

Daredevil, the new Marvel and Netflix series, reveals five character one-sheets for its cast, including Matt Murdock and the Kingpin.

Marvel might have a sequel to the highest grossing superhero movie ever coming out in a little over a month, but before we get there, you can have your superhero kicks from that same cinematic universe much sooner. Indeed, Marvel’s Daredevil premieres in less than two weeks on Netflix, and to build the hype, Marvel has released five character posters for the anticipated show.

The first one fans should likely already be familiar with since it focuses on a familiar pose of Charlie Cox’s as the blind lawyer with a taste for blind justice, Matt Murdock. However, we also now have official character sheets for Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk (aka the Kingpin), Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple (the Night Nurse!), and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson.

Daredevil marks Marvel’s first foray into Netflix streaming. It also appears to be the first step in distinguishing the upcoming Netflix slate of Marvel shows as coarser and shadier stuff than the very glossy Marvel Television and ABC Studios productions of Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter.

In this origin tale for the Man Without Fear, fans will witness Charlie Cox grow into the Daredevil superhero just as Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) cements himself as the Kingpin of Crime while romancing his future wife Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer). Daredevil also promises to be a more bone-crunching nighttime vigilante (of the bat in the belfry variety), prowling around modern day Hell’s Kitchen like a nocturnal demon.

Daredevil is being overseen by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus), who is also executive producing the series alongside Jeph Loeb (Agents of SHIELD), and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), the latter of whom wrote the pilot. The series premieres all 13 one-hour episodes on April 10, 2015.
