Suicide Squad: first cast photo, new actors revealed

With filming to begin this month, director David Ayer has released the first photo of Suicide Squad's assembled cast...

The finishing touches to Suicide Squad's cast have been added over the past week or so, with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje recently announced as Killer Croc, and Scott Eastwood set to play Steve Trevor.

This is all paving the way for the start of filming later this month, which will take place under the watchful eye of director David Ayer.

And ahead of the shoot, Ayers tweeted the first picture of the assembled Suicide Squad cast. While they aren't in character, it's the first time we've seen (just about) all of them in the same place.

Here it is:

Among the cast you can see Margot Robbie (who plays Harley Quinn), Will Smith (Deadshot), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Jai Courtney (Boomerang) Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc) and Karen Fukuhara (unannounced, but possibly Plastique).

The photo also introduces two new actors who haven't previously been announced: Adam Beach, Jim Parrack, and Ike Barinholtz - they're the guys standing at the top right of the picture.

According to Latino Review's sources Parrack will play Deathstroke, Beach is Ravan, and Barinholtz will take on Dr. Hugo Strange. We should note that none of this is confirmed at this stage, but they've been on the money lately.

What's been roundly noted is that neither Scott Eastwood nor Jared Leto (the latter playing The Joker) appear in the image. Are they (particularly Leto) being kept away from the rest of the cast for dramatic purposes? It's possible, but then again, they may have just been stuck in traffic.

Suicide Squad is the second DC movie universe film scheduled for 2016, with Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice out on the 25th March and Suicide Squad set for the 5th August.
