Five Nights at Freddy's 4 announced for Halloween

Cult indie game phenomenon Five Nights at Freddy's is back for a fourth outing, dated for this Halloween...

With its murderous animals and pizza parlour setting, Scott Cawthon's quirky (yet surprisingly scary) Five Nights at Freddy's series has gone from a standing start to cult hit in little more than a year.

The pace of the games' releases has been such that, even though the third title only came out in March, the fourth Five Nights at Freddy's installment has already been announced. And if the game's subtitle's correct, this could well be the last entry in the series.

Over on Cawthorn's homepage, you'll find a teasing image, which we've helpfully attached below. The Final Chapter, it reads, along with a date - Oct. 31, or Halloween, as it's known to its friends.

As we heard earlier this month, the videogames are by no means the beginning and the end of the Five Nights at Freddy's series. Warner Bros has reportedly made a deal with Cawthon to make a movie based on the franchise, though little's currently known about it at this early stage.
