Last summer, CBS put rolled out its Halle Berry vehicle in Extant, expecting it to take us to the moon and back. Season one was a mixed bag as the high-concept summer series weathered sluggish ratings to earn a second season.
With less than two months until season two of the drama premieres, CBS released a special sneak peek at the CBS Summer Press Day on May 18th. Here’s the video, via the CBS YouTube channel:
Among the changes for season two, The Walking Dead’s David Morrissey joins cast. He’ll play General Tobias Shepherd, head of the global security commission, who is described as “a celebrated general [naturally], charming, political, known and respected for making the tough calls of wartime, and standing by them — even when they are morally ambiguous.”
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, best known for playing a certain Comedian in Watchmen and smaller roles in Supernatural and Grey’s Anatomy, also joins the show as a “cop of the future.”
Extant returns on Wednesday, July 1st at 10 p.m. on CBS.
