Point Break Remake Trailer Drops

Alcon releases first trailer for Point Break remake.

Some people are afraid of death, others are afraid of not living and thrill seeking athletes of Alcon Entertainment’s Point Break won’t let anything die. Alcon released the first trailer for its Point Break remake.

The action thriller Point Break remake stars Luke Bracey Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, November Man) as Johnny Utah, a young federal cop who goes undercover in a daredevil group of athletes led by Bodhi, played by Edgar Ramirez (Zero Dark Thirty, The Bourne Ultimatum, Carlos the Jackal). The feds think the athletes are also pulling off crimes for thrills.

The original 1991 hit Point Break starred Keanu Reeves as the fed and Patrick Swayze as the extreme sports addict who robbed banks.

“Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the architects of this string of inconceivable crimes,” reads the official synopsis.

Point Break also features Ray Winstone (Noah, The Departed), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and Delroy Lindo (Sahara, Gone in Sixty Seconds)

The movie was directed by Ericson Core (Invincible) from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen).

According to the press release, the stunts were performed by star surfers Laird Hamilton, Sebastian Zietz, Makua Rothman, Billy Kemper, Brian Keaulana, Ahanu Tson-dru, Ian Walsh, Laurie Towner, Dylan Longbottom, Albee Layer, Bruce Irons, Tikanui Smith and Tuhiti Humani; snowboarders Xavier De Le Rue, Louis Vito, Christian Haller, Lucas DeBari and Ralph Backstrom; skateboarders Bob Burnquist and Eric Koston; motorcyclists Riley Harper and Oakley Lehman; wingsuit stunt pilots Jon Devore, Julian Boulle, Noah Bahnson, Jhonathan Florez and Mike Swanson, and consultant Jeb Corliss; and free climber Chris Sharma.

Point Break is scheduled for release in 3D and 2D in select theaters on December 25, 2015.
