Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin and Jake Gyllenhaal star in the survival movie, Everest. Here's the first trailer...
"Human beings simply aren't built to function at the cruising altitude of a 747. Our bodies will be literally dying."
Our advice? Don't climb Everest, Jason Clarke. Stay at home. Play some Xbox.
Jason? Oh, he's already gone - and he's taken Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal and a bunch of other bearded explorers with him.
Still, their harrowing experience is our gain, as they recreate the true story of an expedition which went terribly awry following a fierce snowstorm.
Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, who previously brought us the thrillers 2 Guns and Contraband, captures the dizzying highs and icy terror of being trapped in one of the most hostile places on Earth. It's also co-written by Simon Beaufoy, who's no stranger to writing stories of survival - he's previously written 127 Hours for Danny Boyle, as well as 2013's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Also along for the treacherous journey to the top of Everest are John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Keira Knightley and Emily Watson.
Everest is in cinemas on September 18th.
