Halo 5: Guardians New Trailer, Multiplayer Campaign

Halo 5: Guardians will have a 24 player multiplayer campaign known as "Warzone."

Microsoft kicked off its 2015 E3 Media Briefing with some major news for Halo 5: Guardians. 343 Industries studio head Bonnie Ross took the stage to talk up the game ahead of a new trailer that led into a live on-stage demo.

The in-game footage showed a notable improvement in graphics over the Halo games on Xbox 360.

But the big news was the announcement of Halo 5's multiplayer mode, called "Warzone," a 24-player multiplayer mode that mixes elements of PvP with PvE. Josh Holmes of 343 Industries boasted that the maps in Warzone are four times larger than previous Halo games. Warzone will feature AI controlled adversaries.

Warzone will feature seamless drop-in, drop-out co-operative play. Downed teammates will be able to be revived in co-op.

Both single player and multiplayer will run in 60 FPS.

Halo 5: Guardians releases October 27.
