Introducing EA's New Platformer, Unravel

Here's the most adorable game of E3 so far: EA's indie platformer, Unravel...

Right, everyone else can go home - this is easily most adorable game we've seen so far at E3. Unravel is a physics-based platformer featuring Yarny, a brave little character made from red string.

Everywhere Yarny goes, he's followed by the loose bit of thread that trails along behind him, which he can use as a rope to swing across chasms, or as a lasso to hook onto far away objects.

Take a look for yourself:

It's a gentle, beautifully crafted looking thing, which uses the power of current-gen consoles to create an intimate world of autumn colours - Unravel looks a bit like a melancholy Kirby's Epic Yarn crossed with the miniature landscape of Pikmin.

Unravel is from the Swedish studio Coldwood, with the project headed up by creative director Martin Sahlin. You can see the first trailer below, but we've also attached Sahlin's E3 introduction, in which he nervously explains how the game came into being. It's well worth a watch.

Unravel's coming soon to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
