Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp Gets a Netflix Trailer

Watch a promotional video for Camp Firewood, convincing you of the need to revisit your Wet Hot American Summer.

Often, we look back on our idyllic days of youth and wish we could go back and relive them. Well, the good news for the cast of the cult comedy Wet Hot American Summer is that they are doing exactly that with

Netflix’s brilliantly absurd “prequel:” Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.

Meant to tell the story of how life began at the summer camp prior to the 2001 film, this eight-part Netflix original series will nonetheless star all of the original actors from that film who were intentionally too old for their characters 14 years ago. The fact that they are reprising these teenage characters now in 2015 is wonderfully asinine.

So in the below “trailer,” or really a Camp Firewood promotional video, revisit the cast of “kids” that includes Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Christopher Meloni, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, and more!

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp premieres all of its episodes on Netflix on July 31.
