X-Men: Days of Future Past "Rogue Cut" Shows First Anna Paquin Clip

Here's what we know about the X-Men: Days of Future Past "Rogue Cut," including a new clip of Anna Paquin as Rogue.

Update: And now to go nicely with the first teaser, we have our first official clip from X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut , which features Anna Paquin as the titular Rogue being reintroduced to the saga.

In the below clip, watch what happens when Bobby Drake/Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) and Sir Ian McKellen's magnetic Erik find Rogue, apparently in some kind of trap. Ideally, I would like to see Rogue take Magneto's powers in this version after he has fallen, and prove herself stronger than his victim from the original 2000 film....but I don't think she'll be in this cut for that long.

Original article: We've known for some time that there was more to X-Men: Days of Future Past. Once Anna Paquin's Rogue, a critical character in Bryan Singer's first two X-Men films was left on the cutting room floor because of time constraints, we figured those scenes would surface, but we never thought we'd get a whole new cut of the movie as part of the deal. But that's exactly what's happening with the "Rogue Cut" of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Not only will the "Rogue Cut" restore Anna Paquin's scenes to the movie, its special features will be different from the current Blu-ray/DVD release of the film. It's got seventeen minutes of footage put back into the movie. We'll be able to see it on July 14th.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is arguably the highlight of the franchise, and one of the best superhero films of recent years. If nothing else, it should help feed X-Men cravings until X-Men: Apocalypse opens in 2016.
