Last year, we got a charming comedy-drama about a chef trying to balance creativity and commerce, art and business, family and profession. Jon Favreau ran his kitchen like a neighborhood block party. Bradley Cooper in Burnt is clearly cooking with a whole different batch of ingredients.
In Burnt, Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all – and lost it. A rock star for the gourmet set, this former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). But is he cooking with matches or gasoline?
Chef is written by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Locke) and is directed by John Wells (ER, Shameless). It also stars Omar Sy, Daniel Bruhl, Uma Thurman, and Emma Thompson. It turns on the heat at movie theaters come Oct. 23, 2015.
