Star Wars PlayStation 4 Features Massive Darth Vader Head

Sony has unveiled its Star Wars-themed PlayStation 4 console, due for launch in November. Take a look...

The first console to look like Darth Vader was the Sega Genesis, with its decidedly Sith-like swooping curves and faintly sinister black plastic.

And now here comes Sony with its Star Wars Limited Edition PlayStation 4 - a special bundle which packages a Sith-themed console with a copy of Star Wars Battlefront and various other Lucas-verse goodies.

The console itself is a surprisingly restrained affair, with Darth's familiar helmet picked out on the side of the system in white and grey, and the Star Wars logo picked out across the top. The Dualshock 4 pad is similarly understated, with red and white buttons set off against a black case, and another Star Wars logo emblazoned on the touchpad.

While some of us might have been hoping for a more dramatic design - X-wings flying all over the place, Admiral Ackbar screaming, things like that - the one we've ended up with will at least look cool and trendy when parked under a living room TV. Much like a Sega Mega Drive, in fact.

The Vader-approved PlayStation 4 will come in two bundles. One will include a copy of Star Wars Battlefront and download codes for a quartet of old Star Wars games - Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, and Super Star Wars. The other bundle is Disney Infinity-themed, and will come with a 3.0 Edition copy of the game, a set of action figures and those download codes mentioned above.

Prices don't appear to be available yet, but we do have a release date - the 17th November - and a short trailer. Here it is:
