Metal Gear Solid 5: History Trailer

Check out this new trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which celebrates the history of the series!

Fall promises us a lot of big titles, from Fallout 4 to Halo 5, but none carry quite as much weight as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the final installment in the Metal Gear Solid series from Hideo Kojima. The game's story sheds light on what happened to Big Boss to eventually turn him into the villain of the original Metal Gear and its sequel. We'll also undoubtedly get glimpses of young Solid and Liquid before their war against the Patriots.

The Phantom Pain carries more of the series' history on its shoulders than any other title, even the dense MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots, which had more backstory, in-jokes, and twists than a game should probably be allowed to. But don't expect any different from The Phantom Pain, a game that will set the stage for the story of Solid Snake, who will eventually save the world from its artificial oppressors.

We have a new trailer for the game that celebrates the history of the series and reminds us just how far this road goes:

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain arrives on Sept. 1 on XBO, PS4, and PC.
