New Ash vs. Evil Dead Trailer Is a Laugh Riot
Bruce Campbell brings the funny in the new Ash vs. Evil Dead teaser.
There’s plenty of gore in the new trailer for Ash vs. Evil Dead, but the emphasis here is definitely on the funnier side of the series. Bloody Disgusting says that this teaser is more tightly edited and shorter than the one which went over like gangbusters at Comic-Con last month, and I’m inclined to believe them since I was sweating over something else at the other end of the con when that trailer was unspooled (although our own David Crow got to spend some time with the series brain trust).
Ash vs. Evil Dead follows Bruce Campbell in his signature role as the title monster hunter, who has spent the last 30 years of his life tracking down ghouls, keeping his chainsaw hand sharp and evading mature adulthood. But he’s forced to step up when a plague of Deadites threaten the future of the human race. Campbell, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert -- the originators of the Evil Dead film franchise -- are executive producers, while Raimi directs the first of the show’s 10-episode run. Ash vs. Evil Dead debuts on Starz on October 31 -- but of course.
